Sorry subject was poor attempt to keep on topic.

I've got my mum an old iMac to go online and do emails and
internet...all's well but she is using dial-up....
Does anyone remember this?? It connects at 40k and seems so so slow!!

However this would be fine for here except this morning modem
disconnected about 4 times within 20mins. This is painful as it then
needs to dial up again.
When we used the same computer at our house it was fine on dial-up so I
suspect the phone line.

Question what is phone number to run line test?
Or can BT do better test from there end?
Or will they be interested?
Any suggestions....
