Vertical TV lifting device.

I can't find it in the archives but I remember a while ago someone
mentioned
a device to lift a TV screen from the floor at the bottom of a bed ?

I want to do something similar except in my application I want to raise a
fire surround by about 1 metre. Probably a similar mechanism to a sectional
garage door except the bit I'm raising is about 1m square and so there is
space to go straight up on a vertical track slightly over 2m tall. It would
be lifted from above - a sort of guillotine action !!!

Any product ideas - pointers ?
