I did exactly this between my home and office, using a pair of LinkSys
WAP11s in bridge mode, and a single moderate gain antenna.

I wouldnt use WAP11s for this job again, as it would never do bridging
mode and WEP, and I ended up using it non-wep with a pair of Vigor
2300s as a VPN across them.  However YMMV, and you could try another
manufacturers boxes.

But as a wireless link over about 100 yards, WiFi was fine.
