I was looking around to see if there was anything new on using a standard
cheap web cam to read barcodes
(I played with this a good few years back, but it was for work and the
software was =A33k +)=20
however I came across this

Looks like they use an app on a symbian smartphone to capture an image of

2d barcode and resolve the code into a URL that opens in the web browser -
