Hi Brian,

The TiVo is just a recorder - you still need a source, so you would need
either:
TiVo + a normal sky box
or
SKY+

There is no clear winner between these any more

TiVo has:
The best UI
The most comprehensive guide for setting up recordings/season passes.
Source independence - you could feed it cable or freeview or plain old
analogue if you like
Hackability to add bigger drives, connect to your pc, push/pull shows etc
a lifetime subscription option for £200

Sky+ has:
The ability to record two channels at once
Surround sound
Hackability to add a larger drive and n SDI interface - but not to network
it.
A monthly fee on top of your sky sub

Also, TiVo in this country is hard to find, except on ebay and maybe a few
specialist etailers.

I love my tivo, but with a plasma on the horizon, I may need the better
quality that sky+ will brign - plus of course HDTV is going to be launched
on sky in 2006 apparently....so it seems sky+ is inevitable in the future
for me....
