Here's a thought. Why not use X10 to enable an outside garage door push
button. ie. when you need emergency access, you phone up and do the
password thing, and then your outside door operator is enabled allowing
you entry for a short period (and then it disables it).

That way if it false triggers, the door won't actually open...
