I got a similar unit from here - http://www.chiptech.de/

It uses stop x2, select to turn the box on and stop x4, select to turn it
off.
Although it's fiddlier, it does mean that it doesn't interfere with any
other
functionality. For example, the '0' button is usually used to add tracks to
a
playlist in xbmc, isn't it?
