I'm keeping an eye on the outlet site at the moment (a couple of laptops

work). There's not a whole lot on there at the moment, but it does change
pretty quickly. From your spec, it sound like you need to be looking at
th=
e
Inspirons, as they tend to be better value than the Latitudes, and come

'consumer' niceties such as TV-out, DVD drives etc. The downside is that
they tend to be heavier than the Lats, and not quite as robust, but they're
fine. You could pick up an Inspiron meeting your spec for around =A3600 +
VAT/p&p. The outlet price is normally around =A3250 off list price.

In terms of memory, you don't get much choice on the outlet site, but if

find a laptop that's OK in every other respect, just buy the additional
memory from Crucial; they're normally cheaper than Dell anyway.

Yep, that'll do it. Bit more RAM wouldn't hurt though, especially for XP=20
(I have 368Mb on my win2k lappy, and could sometimes do with more).

Dell factory outlet...
