This is true.  There are, I think, only 2 suppliers of the core mapping
data, which is used by all the s/w companies, as well as those that develop
the satnav CDs.  AR uses (I think) NavTech, which is the same as my Merc
satnav, and they're both at least 3 years behind the times.  My old house
(built 2000) has just appeared on AR2005, but it's not on my 2004 satnav
CD.
At that rate, the M6 Toll will appear in about 2008.  It is quite funny
though, every time I take the toll, I keep expecting the satnav system to
get a bit worried about why I've apparently driving across fields at 80mph,
but she never does.

The maps are *always* behind the times.  As far as I've seen, that's the
case for most mapping software.  It seems that building the road is quicker
than drawing the map :-/
