[OT] Windows media player

Hi, Sorry about the OT but with the amount of knowledge in this forum I'm
bound to get some help on this.

My problem is that Windows Media player will not play any online files. i.e
streaming video or audio.  I noticed this when it wouldn't play a radio
station for me.  I have downloaded the wmp codecs and installed them
thinking it was that, but still no joy.  Is there anyway to uninstall the
codecs before I install the original codecs.  See the puzzelling thing is
it
will play any files I have on my HDD fine but won't play from the internet?
