Mal,

I'm running PowerDVD on windows XP. I'm not a windows fan, but the=20
myHTPC app sits on top and it runs and runs...and you never see the os=20
underneath..
Kids use it to play ripped dvd's and it has been 100% reliable.

I use another windows app (which name I've forgotten at moment) to trim=20
and mildly recompress, still as VOB. It's a very good free PC app (I=20
would prefer to do this on Mac OSX but haven't found a program as good)=20
and it allows you to remove whole bits like extras, but also trim off=20
credits etc.
