On the flip side, we have about 30 of these with our home users(well, about
15 834s and 15 824s), and really haven't had many issues at all; those we
do
have are mostly set-up issues or user induced.  I'm on firmware v1.04.01 if
that makes a difference, connected for 301 hrs (following a config change
by
me).

I got one of these via work (they pay for it)

I have to say - it's not good. Had to downgrade the firmware - which has
stopped the LAN from disappearing when it feels like ! You have to unplug
the box.

And it constantly drops the connection

Just an FYI. And as there are many of us who have this router (via work)
I'm not alone.

Instructions for Netgear DG834 series...
Pack up the old BT modem
take new router out of box and plug it in
Use the wizard to input your details
Change the default admin password
Enjoy...

unopened box to surfing...10 minutes max.

OK bit simplified but it was a doodle (or dodo as my spellchecker
suggested)
