Simon,

I thought about doing this but for various reasons I didn't. Main
reasons were..two storey house so would have needed to line up rooms
above and below..breton slab construction whch rests on the ground
floor walls so would have needed to drill through it for each conduit.

Is your house two storey and what kind of construction did you use?

Just wondering as next build will probably be a bungalow and I would
aim to have easy access just like you have done.

Cheers
Mick

David

I have just moved into my new house, and like yourself, we built this
from
scratch. I designed the house in such a way that I have straight runs
of
conduit from at least 2 positions in each room, up to the attic. This
means
walking across the attic floor, it looks lie I'm growing conduit:)
[although
you cant see it anymore with insulation] I can now completely re-wire
all my
phone/network/TV etc points whenever I need to, so fibre in 5 years is
no
issue.

There was a lot of extra work involved, a lot of extra tracking,
(+++extra
cost) but it was well worth it! - this computer is currently connected
in a
position which I had no intention of wiring for a PC, but I had the
flexibility to do it....

Hope that helps

Simon
