Yep, I'm running gentoo linux on it. The trick is to minimise the delay
between ignition, and the pc being ready to play music, which I've
currently
got down to about 15 seconds. I need to put the new 2.6 kernel on there and
investigate the suspend-to-disk stuff to see if it can be lowered further.

It certainly seems a popular choice - I've no idea what the boot-times are
or
hwo you'd go about speeding it up though.

I boot to the command line for speed. The UI is currently done through a
custom headend driver, altho I plan to augment this with a VFD.
