What are all those antennae?

Been meaning to ask... on the way to UKHA2004 (and back) we passed a bit
of countryside with dozens of antennae - like TV transmitters, but
obviously in a grid, with various sizes.. also looked like a lot of
shorter units as well.

It's just north of Milton Keynes, beside the M1, and the only clue that
Autoroute could give was that Rugby was nearby...

That's not the atomic clock transmitter is it?
