HI
OK I've done it;
Yep I've installed Linux so that I can have a go with Asterisk. The
guide is excellent. When I went to the linuxiso download site I could
not see redhat 8 but instead downloaded red hat 9.0. The guide still
works 100% though. One quick question for one of the Linux people
though, part way through the guide it says Additional installs which is
an mp3 file for the music on hold. I followed the instructions and
everything seemed to go ok (guessing) however it then says "Once
compiled make sure there is a copy in" "/usr/bin/mpg123".
Well I have a
usr directory with a bin directory in that but no mpg123 directory? Can
anyone tell me 1) how do I know if the file worked ok and 2) if it did
how do I make a copy and put it in the appropriate place?
If I get time at work today I'm going to try to edit the scripts and
just test with a couple of soft phones. I have ordered a couple of the
IP2005 phones from solwise if anyone is interested I can let you know
how I get on when they arrive.
Thanks
Ian D
