RE: Remote-control SCART switcher

IMO the Maplin one aint so hot - I had one, and found that any strong
signal bleeds through the other channels.

As an example, I have response CCTV cameras - and the sound channel on
them can create really loud crackles when strong wind blows across the
cams - the Maplin switch allowed this crackle to bleed across all
channels.

Similarly, If I was watching any video source, and selected Tivo's menu
(so, a very bright blue screen) the menu could be seen ghosted across
the output of the switcher.

I did a complete swapout of SCART leads, and had the unit replaced once
- we then sat in store, and were able to reproduce the same problem on
*every* one they had (another three units) - hooking up a strongly
coloured image caused ghosting, and any "clipped" audio signal on
any
input caused crackling on the output.

In contrast, I now have a 6-way AV switch from Keene Electronics, (a
27974R Unit) and it's been flawless.
