I imagine they will spend most of their time in a dimmed state. I may also
swap all my bulbs for 10watt.

I've had one on test for a few months. I've got to be careful with the
damp-proof membrane, so I've checked that the lights don't melt it. I've
got about a 50->60 mm void to mount the lights in and I also plan to fix
some sort of ceramic tile behind each light to spread the heat out a bit.
I'm trying to decide what I can use to 'glue' the tiles to the membrane. I
don't want to use something that may damage/react with the membrane over
time and won't mind getting warm. How about 100% silicon sealant ?

Hi Jeff,

Wow .. that's plenty of light !!

I used the 10watt bulbs and my 14'x12' bedroom has 8 lights on the ceiling
and 2x 20watt above the bed ... with them all turned on its really nice and
bright !!

Have you 'tested' any of the lights (you know, 'just to make sure they
work'
before fitting them ) ? to see the amount of light they throw out ? they
get
HOT aswell

Jonathan.

I'm using 4 x 250w transformers to cover 4 x 12 x 20w bulbs.
I'm putting in
so many because SWMBO wanted a nice stary sky effect. I
think it's going to
be more like Close Encounters with 36 lights in the main
room ( plus another
12 in the next room ).

Control will be via my x10 remote or wall switches. Plan to
use Homeseer in
the future. I'm installing an x10 motion sensor to do the
if-no-movement-after-30-mins switch off lights etc.

Jeff,

Those are the lights I've used in my bedroom ceiling !!

I've used 1x250watt transformer for the main lights and 1x
per reading light
(two lights above the bed with a switch either side ...)

Just out of curiosity, are you using one transformer per
light / per 'bank'
of lights ?? hows it setup ? HV / comfort / etc ??

Whats the story behind these 'ere vaults then ???

Thanks,
Jonathan.
