OK, I've now managed to sort this out. I sent the box back to Micro$oft
under warranty (about a month left to run) and they replaced the Hard Drive
and "Other". The whole process was very quick and efficient and I
was only without the console for about 8 days. Apart from a tick list of
what was changed, I got no other feedback as to what was wrong, so I guess
it was just a drive failure. Overall, I was very impressed with the XBox
warranty service :-))

Two of the screws to take the console apart are located under the serial
number sticker, and another sticker. The service guys simply punched a hole
through the labels and then reprinted, and stuck new labels over the top
when finished.

I'd best get it chipped now I suppose :-)

Cheers,

Tim.
