RE: Geovision

Is it getting hotter now than it was?

Random reboots, without log entries, are usually caused by overheating,
IME.

Easy troubleshooting step: Take the cover off the case, and throw a desk
fan blowing in, directly at the CPU and Video cards. If it stops
rebooting, you have a heat issue.

Hi All

I am running a GV900 with 8 cameras all on motion sensing and it has been
working fine for over 6 months. I have 3 partitions on 2 disks with a
seperate system partition and 2 storage partitions.. I am running a xeon
system with a gig of memory (total overkill I know but it was cheap) and
all
it does is cctv...

The system is set to recycle and rebooted every 14 days with a registry
hack
for it to autologin.. All was fine until a couple of days ago when it
started to reboot every 10 mins or so and I started to lose signal to a
couple of the cameras even though they are fine... (I tested them with a
seperate monitor etc)

Anyone had similar probs as I am now pulling my hair out for a solution and
will completely rebuild if I cannot figure it..

TIA

Mark H..
