I had problem with these shelves. I think because the shelves are quite
thin
compared to using normal wall brackets it puts a lot more strain on the
fixings especially if you've got a fair number of books on them. It was
particularly a problem for one shelf where most of the fixings were going
into some crumbly mortar between the bricks.

I found coach bolts were better than normal screws and rawplugs. But I
ended
up using shield anchors. I used the M8 sized ones - which were a little too
big. I had to enlarge the holes in the bracket which was a bit of a pain to
do but they're now going nowhere.

If I was to do it again, I think I'd probably use the Sleeve Anchor M6
bolts - I'm not sure shield anchors are available in M6 size.

hee hee.

Nope, maybe I meant 60mm, though 600mm would make for some seriously robust
shelf mounts, Ikea or not ;-)

600mm screws?  As in 600mm long??  You cannot be serious...
