'Excellent job! (not sure about keyboard though?) :)'
Thanks Mark. I've got some doubts about the keyboard as well - but it was a
spare that I had (am I the only one who buys at least 2 of everything if
its
cheap?), and the draw runners were left over from the kitchen I put into
our
first house many many years ago (a hoarder yes - another characteristic of
a
ukha member?).
I'm sure that I am going to be asked 'but how do you type anything in' -
pulling out the draw will be easier than trying to explain VNC!
'Details of CPU Fan?'
Its a http://www.quietpc.com/uk/casefans.php
(The 80 mm acoustifan). Its
meant as a case fan but it delivers more twice the CFM than the sunon fan
that
comes as standard and its so much quieter. It wasn't difficult to fit, just
moved the hard drive down to the bottom rack and made up a simple bracket
that holds the fan just above the cooling fins of the processor. I'm also
going to mount another in the shelf above the PC to draw the hot air out I
suspect its going to get quite hot in there.
'Speakers - what are you using in the kitchen?'
Nothing special - just a pair of bookshelf speakers, but I'm tempted by
some
of the sonance models that are being discussed at the moment. They would be
easy to fit as the house is the wrong way round so the kitchen is upstairs
with the loft above (with easy access).
'View - My Mrs wants to know if you do B&B :)'
LOL. I tell you when my 3 lads are at home and they rack up their HI-FI's
you
would not want to be anywhere near this place!
'Well done! M.'
Thanks again. Looks as if I might have been too successful and only need
one
of these now. One of the
main drivers was to provide cheap multi zone audio. If I use the on board
sound, plus the 2 sound cards, I can drive 3 seperate zones using Xlobby
(and I've got a couple of DDARS for out of the way places).
So I've got a couple of these PC's spare - looks like I'll have to get to
grips with selling on ebay (only ever bought anything that way before).
