I don't quite understand sniping, unless it's to phych out the other
bidders. But can that still work after a bit of experience?

I have two ways of bidding and both rely on me working out the max I'm
prepared to bid. First I put in that bid, let the automatic bidding take
control and wait and see.

Secondly, I take charge of the sniping myself - make sure my clock is
synchronised - set up the bid in one window and the item in another.
Keep refreshing the item and then bid with a few seconds to go. A bit
more exciting, and you can cut it really fine if you keep your nerve..
