RE: Ethernet to Audio
What about one of the PIC based Ethernet boards (see Interfacing With
Ethernet thread), bung on a MP3 decoder chip with suitable pre/power amp,
an
LCD (VFD etc...) display. You'd have to write a server on a PC to stream
the
MP3's, but someone may already have a suitable one available.
Remote control of the HiFi, some recent systems have external control,
failing that, what about adding an IR sender to the Ethernet board ?
Roll the whole lot in xAP or xPL and sit back & control it from
anywhere :-)
Simple in theory !
