Re: OT Digital Camera Advice
make sure it has an optical zoom and that the video capture gets the sound
as well. Invest in a really good case - I would recommend a Camera Care
System - Available from Fotolynx.co.uk and elsewhere.
All digital cameras are pretty robust when "Off" - They are a bit
sensitive to being bashed when the lens is out. Also the screen can be
delicate, but I regularly throw mine in and out of rooms/cars etc. (In its
CCS) with no ill effects.
I have a bias towards Canon but all are excellent. Look at the Ixus i and
Ixus 400 - Don't get too stressed though - whatever you buy will be great.
And enjoy the snow : )

Subject: [ukha_d] OT Digital Camera Advice
Hi all,
I am looking for a digital camera to take on holiday with me next week,
the main criteria are small and robust as it will need to go in the
pocket of my ski jacket and I'm not that good a skier lol
So far have a short list of
Sony Cybershot P12 (P10 with an extra battery and carry case)
Cannon Powershot S45
Cannon Powershot S50
OR
Sony T1 which I really like the look of but not sure on the image
quality in such a compact form factor
At minute I am almost convinced to go with the P12 as I will be able to
reuse memory sticks I have for my digital video camera but would like to
hear people's opinions of it.
Is there something that should be on my shortlist that I have missed??
Regards
Paul
