You missed the bit where I have just had a re-run with a customer's
server (we didn't build it) Same Card, different OS, same problem. One
failing disk wiped out the entire array, despite being "hardware fault
tolerant".
I bought the rocket raid for hardware RAID.. and it didn't work when it
was needed! My customer was advised to buy one for hardware RAID.. and
it didn't work.
These rocket raid cards are an absolute liability Phil. I *hope* you
don't get to see your entire volume go ass-up if a disk ever fails, but
based on the failure rate I have seen so far, the hardware raid is a
joke.
I'm sure I've commented on IDE Raid in the past .. anyone remember what
I said? :-)
