Re: HomeVision and C-Bus

Hi Kevin
Is the macro version a send unit only or does it also
receive and track the cbus loads..?? If it does will it slow hv down a lot
?? If this is the case i would much prefer to wait for your hardware
version...I have an addon serial port and cbus interface for hv but if the
macro version isnt going to slow things down too much i would purchase one
of the your units...
Frank

Subject: [ukha_d] HomeVision and C-Bus

Given we now have a macro sofware solution to drive C-Bus from Homevision
(as soon as the new 3.42 ROMS become widely available) the issue of how
HomeVision connects to C-Bus needs to be considered.

HV will require one serial port connected permanently to the C-Bus RS232
module. It may however be temporarily swapped back to facilitate
programming
of either C-Bus or HomeVision. Are most people happy with this ?? If I
provided a HomeVision additional serial port extension box (similar to the
existing serial port expansion) but with a direct C-Bus connection inside
would people be interested in buying such an add on ? It would probably
cost
about £40 more than the standard serial unit or about the same price as a
HomeVision phone/serial expansion board which is £117 currently (inc VAT).

Kevin
