Scott, it seems I may have confused you. Comfort IR control does not
require a pronto, it just happens to learn IR commands using the same
file format as a pronto (The pronto file format has become a kind of
de-facto standard for IR commands).

If your media PC has an IR receiver, then you can theoretically
control it from comfort, although this is unlikely to be the most
convenient method in the long term. You will probably end up wanting
to introduce an element of software control at some point to join
them together - there's a vast range of options some of which run on
a PC and others which act as a standalone box. Do a google for
homeseer, homevision and misterhouse to get an idea of the sorts of
things you can do with such a set up.

If PC based IR control is important to you, you should probably also
look at RedRat as well as a PC app called Girder.
