RE: rotation
Ah, I see now :)
Are you going to put some kind of 'skirt' between the plasma and back of
th=
e fake wood doors to hide the gubbins when it's rotating?

Longest day of the year !=20
It would be wow if I can get it working. I can't really use normal doors
because I've got a very low curved ceiling ( project vault )
See http://www.perfectmotion.co.uk/PICT1307.JPG
The newspaper is the approx size of the 42 inch plasma. The walls have
com=
e
in even further after plasterboarding and If we consider a 110mm wide
speaker on each side you've got about 1.2 m of screen+speaker width.
Norma=
l
doors would open and hit the ceiling. Can't have a cover that drops down
because we've got storage being built below the screen. I was considering
some sort of garage door style up-and-over but that would not fit. The
onl=
y
spare space I've got is behind the screen as the cupboard is being built
into the room.

OK, Its been a long day and I'm probably missing the point. If the plasma
i=
s
going to be behind doors why do you need to rotate it? Or is it just for
th=
e
wow factor? (Which BTW is reason enough in my mind :-))

When I say flush it's really the 'fake' cupboard doors side that need to
fi=
t
well. I will make these look like a pair of shaker style doors complete
with knobs with a 2/3 mm gap round the edge. They will probably be made of
9mm MDF.=20=20
Checkout this diagram http://www.perfectmotion.co.uk/rotate_idea.gif
I need to make sure that the screen will not foul on the opening as it
rotates round. I think that if the doors are wider that the screen I

d
be ok

Interesting - how are you going to get the plasma flush with the wall and
allow it to rotate without fouling the rest of the wall?

That would certainly do it. I'm assuming you need to hold down the button
until it reaches it's final position which I can certainly live with for
=A314.00. In an ideal world you would also have 2 presets ie zero and 180
degrees and you would move between them with one press ( and release ) of a
button. Remote/pc control would also be a bonus.
I'm ordering one anyway !
