Jeremy

Axis, Sony, Veo and Linksys all make suitable cameras. Generally they
have built in servers, so each pub would require nothing more than a
router, broadband connection and a movement detecting IP camera.

It is a variant of this that we offer through our web based monitoring
solutions, and this is exactly what I was demonstrating at the UKHA2004
exhibition.

To date our company has focused on security alarm monitoring, but we
will shortly be launching camera monitoring - not just offering one easy
to use secure online interface to IP cameras in multiple properties, but
also using the motion detection in some makes for security purposes.

In essence, this motion detection allows us to store images online if
movement is detected out of hours, but also raise the alarm via SMS,
email, voice call to landlines, and soon, MMS.

If you'd like to know more, drop me a line off list.

Thanks and good luck.

Scott

Subject: [ukha_d] streaming live cameras via web interface..

Hello there everyone,

Noob, so here I go in the best of my ability :)

We are a small web design company branching out a little into Home /
business automation to enhance our online portfolio

We have been asked by a small pub chain to have an on-line facility
for customers to log into their web site and check out their pub via
live streaming video. (e.g. see if their friends are in the pub, see
how busy it is etc).

we realise a small server will be required in each of the pubs with
broadband connection. with each pub a different I.P. so customers
can log in to whichever pub they want.

basically, which type of cameras would people suggest we use with
the above senario. Obviously colour but we are unsure of makes,
models etc.

If anyone could offer any suggestions, or if this is the best way
(or not) to go about this, it would be most welcome

many thanks

Jez
