Well...

Since my house is all brick and concrete new build ...I don't have
the problem of floorboards...I would have planned for even more
integrated tubing from and to all possible locations - now I am
resorting to hacking cable conduit and drilling holes in 10 inch
concrete for every cat 5 I want to add - provided I can cover it up
later on to avoid a swimbo war....but it does feel good when you
sweated on  some cable pull for 2 days and you can't see it but it
works :-)

Another thing, although I thought about lighting automation
initially, the proposal from the electrician was way over my budget
for a simple install - so I opted out - but slightly regret now - I
should have installed more of everything (I only added 35 extra power
outlets and 29 light switches) and this even goes for cold and hot
water outlets.

Distributed audio/video - would probably have doen that differently
too but quite happy with the central amps and the remote IR control -
only things missing is visual feedback of channel/current volume etc.
So sometimes it switches on to the wrong source and before you know
it's too loud etc..
