I've been running this at home for a couple of months and it is perfect.
You will need a wireless/Bluetooth enabled handheld pc and a
wireless/Bluetooth enabled laptop though

Subject: [ukha_d] Car laptop audio front end?

I tried out my laptop in the car as a source of audio, with mostly good
success. I used a dummy tape and a power adaptor from those nice people
at Maplin (=A310!). Howewer, when SWMBO asked me to skip a track she
didn't like, she was not amused by my suggesting that she dug the laptop
out from under her seat, minding the wires, of course, opening the lid
and changing the track with iTunes - especially as it was 1400x1050 and
I've just got her onto 1024x768, and anyway she didn't know where her
glasses were.

So, are there any suggestions as to a way of front ending a PC with a
simple navigation device to enable album/playlist and track selection.
Potentially useful assets are the W2K PC, an old Palm, and the ability
to write software.

Pete
