Height off floor for projector

Hi,
I am just about to run some power and cat5 cables to the future location of
a projector, and was wondering what the preferred height off the floor is.
I know most/all projectors have adjustment, but I was wondering what the
optimum /maximum is?
The ceiling in question is 2.55m high, no-one will be standing under the
projector as there will be a sofa under it. Would 2.3m be an acceptable
height?
