I've done a fair bit of research into this and it would seem that unless
the
property is of a significant value (and thus that level of fit is
expected.)
or fits in a certain market sector (I.e. Yuppie flat!) you're unlikely to
gain any benefit.

Even in those sectors where value is to be perceived from HA it is likely
only to be on professional installs that can be further backed up by a
maintainer and unfortunately they are still pretty thin on the ground or in
the Crestron/AMX arena and charging silly money.

My personal view is that at this moment in time a prospective purchaser
would be cautious even over something as a properly wired c-bus install.
I think we have to accept the fact that we are all 'early adaptors' of HA
and its related technologies. (Early adopters is a nice way of saying
'geek'
;-)) However,...........

How big? Well who knows, depends who you talk too. But trust me! We are not
talking "flash in the pan" here. There is just too many major
players
investing too many corporate millions being spent in convincing the
consumer
that we need and want it.

And if I'm wrong? Well I'll eat my iPAQ!

Of course the UK house build market has a big part to play in all of this
too! But best I don't start on my 'pet subject' otherwise I'll be here all
night ;-) Matthew Bramble of Opus shares my view:

But talk actual volumes with Opus and you're not going to get rich just
yet!

Oh, and to answer your question. Plan so you can remove it all when you
sell. That's if its worth a penny because its been superseded 20 times
over!

The experience of the group so far has pretty much been that there's little
or no interest in this sort of thing when it comes to resale. The only
thing which would probably add value is a quality hardwired lighting system
like C-Bus.
