Hi Martin

It is totally customisable - current version has a very Visual Basic feel
but it is quite simple to use, Homegate has its own buttons which luckily
you can make transparent and use your own jpgs etc. in lieu.

The screenshots as below are generally 1 large jpg with transparent
buttons,
some are individual gifs for each button with on and off states.

These shots are from the version i was running on the Kiosk PC - i was
running Homegate on the Kiosk and in control mode it creates a window
running the controls which is dynamic so sliders/colours change as you move
them. On anyother PC you get a jpg snapshot representation of the screen
which updates by page refreshes.

I using the PC interface sat next to the Dimmers - then via structured CAT5
then from patchpanel to PC by provided RS232 cable.

Hi Dean,

Thanks, just had a look - first questions that jump out are:

Is the user interface customisable?

Are you using a network interface?

or a pc interface with a rs232 - ethernet adapter?

Cheers

Martin

Hi Martin

Lots of experience

Yes it does the job well - especially v2.

No demo, and not particularly cheap.

Any questions, just ask away.

Download the UKHA2004 video - during my 5 mins of fame you'll see Homegate
running on a Kiosk PC.

Also look at my web site http://www.rolec.net - follow the Cbus
lighting
links and try the Homegate demonstration, these pages give a feel of what
you can do, though currently on the site only controlling our lighting
demo
board.

I think that Homegate software will be superseded by Clipsal's Premise
Gateway which is going to encompass homegate in hardware ? - Li from Cbus
shop will have a better answer for that.

Regards

Dean.

Hi,

Does anyone have any experience with the Cbus HomeGate software?
i.e

Is it any good?

Is there a demo anywhere?

Cheers

Martin
