Did you not have the make and model of the CD player?

So you could go to the manufacturers site and download the manual before
purchase? Or tap in the make / model into google and see reviews. The only
time, I have ever returned anything is due to damaged / faulty goods - the
internet allows a buyer to get informed before buying!
