I don't know about Andy, but this is what I need to control:
Exstreamers (playlist selection, volume, bass etc, but without that
clunky zServer rubbish)
Various X10 modules
A couple of custom RS232 modules (for light dimmer pack, irrigation
valves)
Eventually, IR control of TV, DVD player etc, so that I can just
press a button for "movie mode" and have the lights dim and
have the
AV gear set to the right inputs etc.

Controlled by:
PDA (but only Pocket PC 2000)
X10 RF Remotes (with remapping of commands - for example, PC
receives A10 On over RF, and sends B10 On and D4 Off down the powerline
instead)

I want to wrap everything in a nice interface presented on the PDA, so
that details like the X10 module addresses are hidden.

I looked through the Xap webpages, but I didn't get a feel for how I
would actually use it with my own code - and that's despite being a
professional programmer for over 10 years now (I guess it just didn't
"click")
