Now this IS an area where boycoting would work, if enough people could
be convinced to do it. It almost happened with the petrol thing (but now
prices are even higher), but the petro-chemical industry is in nearly
such a shakey situation as the music industry.
CD-Wow must be selling pretty well to make the BPI sit up & take
notice.
At the end of the day, they still see their monney no matter where it
was bought (OK, a little more money). If those people who used CD-wow
didn't buy music, and could convince a friend or two not to then the BPI
would sit up and take notice again.
As Mark said, those more specialist albums may be more justified in
selling for a higher price, but they're hardy likely to appear on CD_Wow
are they ...
