Yup - I live in a bungalow and have them all mounted in the
ceiling.  I have built some MDF back boxes for the ones in the
lounge and put some sound insulation in them.  The others just have
a rockwool "pillow over the top of them.  This is primarily to stop
the normal loft detritus from affecting them but also helps to stop
noise leaking into other areas of the house and beyond...
