Dean

I've done a search and see theres a few varities of the card depending on
h=
ow much =A3=A3 you have, which one is youre set up using ?

- We love our Explorer had since new, used it myself for a few years now
th=
e wife does the school run in it :)
Can't beat it for load carrying, use every now and again for lugging 'big
s=
tuff' to site. Bad reputation in the UK, we can't fault it.

Thats me :)

So was a 'lucky' owner or a lucky owner ??

I have it about 8 months now - got rid of a 170mph sub 5 second car to get
=
it :) - But considerably more practical...

Does me great i can get muddy and run over things that i couldnt do before
=
- and it only cost 38p a Litre :)

The CCTV Setup is just the standard software provided with the GeoVision
Ca=
rds.

Paul

We are using the basic Geovision Card with 8 ports - think we paid =A3120=
on special offer - frame rate is not fantastic but more than adequate.

You can look at it running here :-

Login in with user & password as UKHA - it w=
ill be there for a limited time before i remove it.

We have 4 camera's permanently motion recording which seems to work great

... like the Geovision or AVermedia cards...

I've been using a home built Linux box and running ZoneMinder on it for a=
while. Never really got on well with Linux so am considering a move to a W=
indows box (cos I just know it sooo well) with one of these multi port
card=
s.

However, I don't want to spend an absolute fortune on the capture card (l=
ike
=A3500) - so was wondering what the cheap 8 port Geovision card is like? =
I know it has pretty poor capture rates (20 fps for all cams) - what's
this=
like in reality?

Does the software have motion detection? Is it any good? If it's set to o=
nly record triggered zones, the capture rate may not be such an issue -
doe=
s it work like this?

Any help appreciated :-)

Paul.
