Thanks Tim - I found them in CPC's catalogue shortly after posting that
message, but think I'll just get the one on offer in Maplin that Phil
pointed out.

Have you looked at CPC ?
They have a number of similar items on offer, page 47 & 48 of the 2004
catalogue (if you have one). Prices range from around 8 quid up to
40-odd, plus vat.
If you don't have the catalogue, visit www.cpc.co.uk & search for
"pre-amplifier".
They also do some interconnects, they may or may not suit your system /
budget though :-))
