I've got one Gareth.

Seip door opener - has a dry contact switch closure to open/close which you
can connect a manual switch and/or HomeVision/Comfort etc. Mine is linked
to Comfort via one of their relay boards. You can't force it open/closed
discreetly (I think) but it has 3 LED's on the PCB which show the following
states - Open, Nearly Open, mid-way, Nearly Closed, Closed. I took a feed
off of these LED's and fed them into HomeVision (via some opto isolators -
just for safety so I didn't blow up the PCB!). Homevision now monitors the
LED's and can tell the status of the door and in turn now announces
"Garage door opening/closing" etc via AT&T Natural Voices
through the whole-house speaker system. Works pretty well (apart from a bit
of dodgy pronunciation in the UK voices!).

I think most door openers should give you at least basic contacts that you
should be easily able to interface with Comfort :)

Paul.
