Funy enough someone used to have an AP on the same channel, this has
dissapeard at about the same time..

It may be worth checking the connections on the aerials. Undo both,
slosh out with white sprit, dry, reconnect.

It's possible that the problem is something like you used to use both
in diversity mode, but one has a lose connection, and you now have a
blackspot. (If you move your laptop a few centimetres in a random
direction a few times, does anything change?)

May also be worth running NetStumbler to see whether someone else
nearby has set up on the same wifi channel as you. If so, swap
channels :-)
