scart connectors
Hi,
I found the scart pin-out diagram at Keith's site (diyha.co.uk). The
scart cable that came with my dvd player has pins 10 and 12 missing.
The diagram says they are "comm data". What are they for and does
it
matter I am missing them? I have other scart leads so I might use one
of those instead, but I wonder whether it is worth hanging onto this
one as a spare?
I knew that you could not output rgb and s-video at the same time
because they share pins, and I see from Keith's site that indeed the
red pins are used for chroma on s-video. But it also appears that
composite video is on pins 17 and 19, which are also used for luminace
by s-video. Does this mean you cannot output both s-video and
composite at the same time?
I was hoping that there might be an undocumented s-video out over
scart on my Thomson freeview box (I need s-video or composite top
connect to my amp) but it looks as if this will not exist since the
pins will be used for composite output. Oh well.
Merry Christmas.
Stephen.
