Hi All, Advice would be appreciated.

I have some additional sockets that I was planning to install in the
garage, I originaly planned to extend the ring installed in the
garage by my builder. I took a look at it today and realised that the
tight builder has run the garage as a spur off one of the house
rings. There is a 13 amp fused outlet that goes via armoured cable to
a fuse box in the garage, this splits out to a separate fuse for ight
and power.

I am not looking for a great deal of power in the garage, just
lights, freezer and one power tool at a time.

Can I add any more sockets in the garage off this spur? Or is the
right thing to install a new cable from the garage back to the main
consumer unit and install a new breaker just for the garage. I am
sure this may be the right thing to do but as the consumer unit is
the other side of the house it will mean a great deal of cost to bury
the cable.

I did electrical training as part of my apprenticeship but that was a
long time ago :-(

Thanks in advance.

Ian
