I was indeed :)

Sniping is a part of ebay life, just like fraud. It's not against the
rules,
just against the spirit of the thing - and seems to be one of the factors
that has changed ebay from a community flea market type of place to a
"pound
shop", where all you get is huge amounts of tat constantly
circulating.

Yep - it's simple short sightedness - get me the absolute cheapest rock
bottom price, and to hell with the effect it has on the rest of the
community... Meaning there's very little incentive for sellers to keep
coming back.

It's the same as the bittorrent situation - other P2P systems are
floundering because of the highe number of people who take, take, take and
never give back - bittorrent enforces that participation and seems much
better for it!

Ian.
