Ok. I didn't see any of the stuff about your problem before and it
does sound as if the shielded cabling helps so you can ignore my
interruption! I would have thought the LA PSU would be regulated. I
just thought I would mention the PSU as it would have saved you some
hassle.
I think Xantech suggest grounding the shielding on the Ground input
terminal. I believe you should only connect that end for each run.
They do also mention connecting a 470ohm 1/8 watt resistor between the
signal connection and ground when the shielded cable exceeds 50ft
(75ft when unshielded). Xantech state "The resistor discharges the
cable capacitance more quickly, allowing IR codes of high bit rates to
pass withough data loss for cosistent command executions."
