Introduction

I just learned about this group and look forward to digging into the
archives and reading the message flow.  Hopefully I'll be able to
contribute from time-to-time.

I'm a lifelong home tinkerer and an early computer user.  Found it
so much fun I started a company supplying and supporting computer
hardware and software here in California.  Now retired, it's time to
fix what's broken in my home's automation systems and start updating
and upgrading the capabilities.  My early home automation was all
done with X-10 but I've also used and installed higher end home
automation systems like Phast and AMX.  Not really happy with that
stuff I look forward to learning what alternatives are out there.
