RE: Backups - how do you do them?

Actually, in a slight tip-of-the-hat to NAS, I now store my media on a NT4
server rather than the 2003 server everything else lives on - the overheads
of win2K and win2K3 being just too damn smart for their own good was
becoming a real pain, so I decided to see how well old NT4 SP6 would do on
modern hardware - very nice indeed!!

Our media server (.8Tb) boots in less than ten seconds, and opening media
is
*lightning* fast. One point worth noting - it's actually faster using a
100Mb card than a Gigabit one - NT4's drivers for the GiG cards is buggy as
hell.

Ian.

OK, if we are going onto relatvies (GRIN)

My folks have hardware raid 1 and a DAT 4 drive - but very tempted to stuff
all their stuff onto a small NAS.
They are BIG users of digital photography.
