RE: [OT] MonitorAdvice

Hi Kevin

eBuyer have got a good deal on LCD at the moment so have microdirect. I
personally think response time is important. Especially if you are going
to
watch TV on it. A slow response time will become evident when program
credits scroll - Higher response time = more ghosting of credits text. I
recently bought a 17" by AVIXE available at The Computer Shop. A very
good
spec and so far very reliable (6 months). Specs are:

11ms Response Time (the lower the better)
450 cd/m2 Image Brightness (The higher the better)
700:1 Contrast Ratio (The higher the first figure the better)
175 degree viewing angle (Can still see a good picture standing
practically at the side of the monitor)

Hope that helps

Subject: [ukha_d] [OT] MonitorAdvice

Looking to replace my desktop monitors with Flat Panels and I am looking
for
some advice.

I do a reasonable amount of photo work on the current CRT (17") and am
looking for a good replacement, I like the Idea of a flat panel but am not
sure of the colour quality would I be better off with a CRT ? it needs to
be
19" as the 17" replaced a faulty 22" and I miss the size.

Response time should not be too important I don't do a lot of gaming but do
occasionally watch TV through it.

Cheers

Kevin
